| WASHINGTON -- Toyota Motor Corp.'s hybrid Prius topped the list of most fuel efficient cars, with several other Japanese models also on the list, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Toyota's Prius is able to travel about 25 kilometers in urban areas on 1 liter of gasoline. Honda Motor Co.'s Civic Hybrid came second while Toyota's Camry Hybrid ranked third. The manual and automatic models of Toyota's Yaris, known as Vitz in Japan, ranked fifth and sixth, respectively. Ford's sport utility vehicle Escape ranked fourth.
